Free course: “Partners in Depression” (6 sessions, 10 July to 14 Aug).

This course is being held in Cairns on Tuesday evenings over 6 sessions, from 5.30pm to 8pm.  The sessions will run between 10th July and 14th August.
The course is aimed at supporting people who care for a family member or friend who has been diagnosed with depression.
People interested in being a participant in the next group should contact either Neil Springell or Rhonda Methven for more details.  Contact details are on the below poster.

Free mulch giveaway this weekend.

Free mulch will be available from Cairns Regional Council’s waste transfer stations from this Friday, May 25.

Mulch will assist in water retention during the dry season, reducing the need to water gardens.

Mulch will be available to all CRC area residents during regular opening hours from Friday, May 25, to Monday, May 28 inclusive, or until supplies run out.

Domestic vehicles only – utilities, trailers and light trucks (vehicle weight to GVM 4 tonnes maximum). Council staff can assist with loading with use of mechanical equipment.

Mulch is available from:

  • Portsmith Transfer Station (Open 7 days 8.30 am – 5.15pm)
  • Smithfield Transfer Station (Open Mon – Sat 7am – 5.15pm, Sun 9am – 5.15 pm)
  • Gordonvale Transfer Station (Open 7 days 8.30 am – 5:15pm)
  • Killaloe Transfer Station (Open Mon – Sat 8am – 5.30 pm, Sun 9am – 5.30pm)
  • Newell Beach Transfer Station (Open Mon & Fri 7am – 12pm, Wed 12pm – 6pm, Sat 7am – 6pm)

Babinda Transfer Station (Open 7 days 8.30am – 5.15pm)
