Pocket Cricket – The fast & furious all action cricket game from Cairns!

THE Cairns inventors of a clever, but simple cricket dice game that based on local sales could soon be sweeping the nation, are aiming globally. Hamish Sterling and Paul McLellan, along with one other have invented a dice game called Pocket Cricket.

Pocket Cricket with six dice and simple rules has hit the Australian market just in time for the cricket season but the inventors have worldwide targets, particularly the cricket-mad countries of India and Pakistan.

The first sets of the game, packaged in a small pouch with instructions, and really does fit in your pocket, are on sale for $9.99 including postage, ANYWHERE!

The game involves a batting side, which has three dice, and a bowling side which also has three dice. There are 10 wickets.

The bowlers have a bowling dice, a fielding dice and an umpire’s dice. The batters have a conservative stroke of play dice, an aggressive stroke of play dice and a dice which decides the number of runs.

The game can be played solo, by two or four players.  It is an all action game that gives a feel of a limited over big bash type game.  Wickets tumble with classic catches, LBW’s and Run Outs while boundaries can be smashed and runs made.

The game is quick and easy to play as it follows the basic structure of a game of cricket, you bowl, the batsman plays a stroke the fielders play their part and the umpire makes the crucial decisions.

Hamish Sterling of Edge Hill said the game was sparked after a discussion between the creators on electronic cricket simulation games two-and-a-half years ago.  “We wanted to bring back a bit of social interaction to gaming and fire up people imagination as they play the game” and despite challenges and knockbacks it came to fruition last November.

The game is available online at www.pocketcricket.com.au or visit www.Facebook.com/PocketCricket January 4th 2012 – See the Channel 7 Queensland local news story!    http://youtu.be/JnoYS2ODBL
